What we have here is the latest version of the Encore boot, which essentially takes all the great things about the trusted and proven Vans High Standard boot (something like 15 plus years and still going?!) and adds one of the best things to ever happen to boots: the Boa lacing system.
If you haven't had the pleasure of checking out a boot with the Boa system you're missing out. Even though it's tech, a lot of riders are really into it, even some of the old school! Most who try it will never go back to conventional laces on their snowboard boots

Getting Technical:
A nice adaptation of the classic Vans waffle sole for snow use and a cushy poly midsole with airbags in the heel give the rider just the right blend of comfort and board feel. 
The Trifit Asym-X liners are super comfy and have great heel hold down and support. Overall this boot is very comfortable and light, yet supportive and durable. Best of all, it looks great and incorporates classic Vans style with current snowboard trends and style.
Pros:
The Encore has everything one could want in a boot: a really nice simple design with a total lack of crazy gadgets or gimmicks, which is obviously a good thing.
