The Homestead

About This Location

Description

The Homestead is a four-season resort nestled in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore in the Northern Lower
Peninsula.  Celebrating its 25th ski season on the Lake Michigan shoreline, The Homestead offers up a good mix of terrain able to challenge avid skiers and snowboarders and take it easy on those just beginning.

Ticket and rental prices are in line with other "up-north" resorts - keep in mind that if you're member or registered house guest, charge your tickets to your house account and enjoy a 20-30% savings and have exclusive access to first tracks between 9-10am.

The Homestead has has a unique approach to the number of tickets it sells.  Instead of printing as many tickets as possible - the resort has chosen to limit the number of lift tickets sold in order to "prevent crowding and maximize the quality of the guests' experience."

Both skiing and snowboarding lessons are offered for all ages and skill levels.  The Homestead is host to various events throughout the season, most of which have a toned down feel compared to other resorts - the Michigan telemark festival, and film festivals
