With colder temps rolling through much of the upper midwest this past weekend, ski areas have been cranking out the snow. Operations crews at various resorts we have talked to state that these are some of the coldest early season temps that we have received in awhile – delivering optimal snowmaking conditions!

Thanksgiving is always the mark for many ski areas in the state and a large handful of them should hit that. Our quick rundown of areas looking to open by Thanksgiving or this weekend. See you on the hill!

Northern Lower Peninsula Ski Areas

Boyne Mountain: Opening on Thanksgiving Day, 9am-4:30pm
8″ of lake effect being forecasted for over the weekend.

Boyne Highlands: Opening on Thanksgiving Day, 9am-4:30pm
Attention is being focused heavily on Kath Run, North Camelot, Boardwalk, Rob Roy, Olympic, K-2, Heather, South Challenger and North Challenger.

Caberfae Peaks: Opening up Friday, Nov. 29th, 30th & Dec. 1st from 10am-4:30pm.
Cab is planning on 3 lifts to service as many runs as possible for their Friday opener.

Crystal Mountain: Opening on Thanksgiving Day, 12pm-5pm.
Crystal will also be open throughout the weekend from 10am-5pm on the 29th – Dec. 1st, closing back down mid-week for snowmaking efforts to continue.

Nub’s Nob: Opening on Thanksgiving Day, 9:30am-4:30pm and continuing that through Dec. 1st.
Nub’s is looking to open at least 4 runs and don’t forget the Rail Jam for Manna on Nov. 30th.

Shanty Creek: Opening on Friday, Nov. 29th at 9am.

Treetops: Taunting an opener on Nov. 29th, 10am-6:00pm through Dec. 1st.

Southern Lower Peninsula Ski Areas

Alpine Valley: Opened back up today (Nov. 25th) 3pm-10pm and 10am-10pm Wednesday with a decision to come on Thursday’s times.

Bittersweet: Opened back up today (Nov. 25th) 3pm-10pm and are anticipated to continue through the weekend.

Mt. Brighton: Opens up today (Nov. 25th) 3pm-10pm

Mt. Holly:  Opening back up today (Nov. 25th) 3pm-10pm and will operate that throughout the weekend.

Pine Knob: Opening back up today (Nov. 25th) 3pm-10pm and will operate that throughout the weekend.

Timber Ridge: Planning on opening Friday Nov. 29th at 3pm. Terrain that will be opened has not yet been verified.

Upper Peninsula Ski Areas

Indianhead Mountain: Opening up Friday Nov. 29th, 9am-4pm

Marquette Mountain: Tentative opener on Friday Nov. 29th. Times TBD

Pine Mountain: Tentative opener Friday Nov. 29th. Times TBD
