THOMPSONVILLE, MICH. – Thanks to a very productive collaboration with Mother Nature since Thursday, Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa will open the slopes for skiing and snowboarding Friday, December 11 beginning at noon.

Since switching on its 129 snowguns on Thursday, December 3, Crystal Mountain has been able to make enough snow, complimented by natural snowfall, to open 25-30% of its skiable terrain serviced by two to three chairlifts and two surface lifts. The Cheers, Main Street, and Camp Totem slopes will open Friday with Buck, Lower Gorge, Gorge and Hoot Owl expected to open over the weekend. With some predicting 12-24 inches of natural snow by Friday it is possible more terrain could open. Stay tuned to the snow report at crystalmountain.com/snow for the latest updates.

The slopes will be open Friday, 12-8pm, Saturday 9am-8pm, and Sunday from 9am-6pm. Early season rates apply with lifts tickets priced $25 (adults 16+), $15 (juniors 9-15), and children 8 & under FREE. Ski and snowboard rental will be $25 (adults 16+), $15 (juniors 9-15), and $10 for children 8 & under.

The slopes will be open 12-6pm Monday, December 14-Thursday, December 17 with regular season hours (9am-9pm) beginning December 18 for Crystal’s first 5 for $50 Friday of the season. Groups of up to five people can ski or ride from open to close for $50 on December 18. This is the first of four 5 for $50 Fridays scheduled throughout the winter including January 8, February 5 and March 5.
