Many ski areas across Michigan took advantage of the cold snap that happened this past week, giving them a nice jumpstart to the 2012/2013 season. While there is a mild warm up anticipated in the weather toward the end of the weekend and into mid-week next week, many areas are either open already or openining this weekend. We’re keeping optimistic about the weather and are looking ahead to a good season. Here’s a quick rundown of who’s open.

Northern Lower Peninsula

Boyne Highlands – Currently open 9am to 4:30pm with 1 run and 1 lift (Heather) with additional lifts opening up on Friday. $25 gets your lift ticket for the remainder of the week and $35 this weekend.

Boyne Mountain – Will be open 9am to 4:30pm on Friday Nov. 30th. While we’re not 100% sure on which runs and the number of lifts, we’d anticipate it to be more than 1. $35 gets you riding this weekend.

Caberfae – Opening up on Friday Nov. 30th from 3pm to 9pm. Saturday and Sunday will be 10am to 4:30pm. 3 lifts will be spinning with 7 runs including Canyon, Smiling Irishmen, Shelter, Easy Street, Ski Shop & No. 1 to RW and Cruiser. Friday lift tickets are $14 with Saturday and Sunday $19 open to close or $14 for 1pm to close.

Nub’s Nob – Opening up on Friday Nov. 30th from 9am to 4:30pm, the same for Saturday and Sunday. 2 lifts and 3 runs (Big Time, Sno Pro, Smooth Sailing) will be open on Friday with an additional 3 to 4 opening up on Saturday. $25 on Friday for the opener and $35 for Saturday and Sunday.

Southeast Michigan

Alpine Valley – Opening up today (Nov. 28th) from 3pm to 10pm with 2 lifts spinning and 2 runs. $20 gets you on the hill.

Mt. Brighton – Opening up today (Nov. 28th) from 3pm to 9pm with 2 lifts spinning and 2 runs. $25 gets you on the hill.

Mt. Holly – Also opening up today (Nov. 28th) at 3pm with 5 runs and 3 lifts spinning. $20 gets you on the hill.

Pine Knob – Opens up today (Nov. 28th) from 3pm to 10pm and $20 lifts.

Upper Peninsula

Ski Brule – Operating daily from 9am to 4pm with 1 lift and 1 rope and 6 runs.

Indianhead – Opening up Friday Nov. 30th from 9am to 4pm – current terrain and lifts are unknown. 2-day pass for $55.
