In an effort to best serve the USASA memberships in Michigan, Middle Earth and Huck Finn Series are now being merged into a single entity that will be known as the USASA Great Lakes Snow Series (GLSS). The GLSS is currently in the process of scheduling out events statewide for the upcoming 2014/2015 season.
The merger comes on the heels of the resignation of long time Middle Earth Series Director, Mo Shorr. With the resignation acceptance by the USASA Executive Board, a big thanks is sent out to Mo and her family for 10+ years helping to build the sports of snowboarding and freeskiing in the state.
Moving forward, GLSS director Greg Flowers (G-flow) states “we are all very excited about the prospects for this next winter. The merger will enhance the on-site event experience for all competitors as their will be plenty of new faces and new places for our events this winter.”
As a part of the merger, GLSS will now oversee all Snowboard Cross, Skier Cross, Rail Jams, Alpine Slalom, Giant Slalom and Banked Slalom events. Slopestyle and halfpipe events are also in the mix for this season across Michigan.
Were you a previous Middle Earth or Huck Finn’er? Odds are you were a USASA member anyways… if not, you should jump over and become one to take advantage of the sweet promo they have going on.
Early season discounts save you $10 if you register before November 1st. Plus, all USASA members are eligible for new member benefits that include a membership in ProMotive, providing you with up to 70% off a long list of items from camping and bikes to ski and snowboard gear.
